Providing advanced power plant controls to meet Distributed Energy Management Systems (DERMS) requirements for community solar and similarly sized* solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) sites.
*Our team has deployed plant controls at more than 4GW of utility-scale projects, and we'd be happy to help you with those, but we specialize in the smaller-scale community solar industry by providing a solid, robust basic power plant controller to meet DERMS requirements.
Experience state-of-the-art control systems tailored for 'small' energy producers connected at the distribution level. Whether your system is PV, BESS, or PV+BESS, we can provide a robust, DERMS-compatible PPC for a reasonable price.
With decades of experience dealing with ever-changing utility requirements, we are familiar with the DERMS programs of most major American utilities and are happy to engage with those with whom we have not previously worked.
Community solar brings renewable energy within reach of many who might not otherwise be able to access clean, green electrity. We enthusiastically support community solar, and our PPC is designed to make your community solar project a 'good neighbor' on the grid - enhancing grid stability and enabling projects in congested territories.
The team at DERMS Solutions cut their teeth on utility-scale power plant controls, and working for and with utilities on stabilizing the grid. In too many cases the industry tries to squeeze those solutions down to the distribution level, where they just aren't applicable. We focus on those smaller projects that are big enough to need some control to satisfy interconnection requirements, but don't have the demands of a transmission-connected plant.
Our PPC platform is based on the industry standard SEL RTAC, but can be easily ported to any Codesys-compatible controller, and to other controller families if required.
Do you have a project with DERMS requirements for curtailment, Volt/VAr, or power factor control beyond what your inverters/PCS can do natively? Or a project requiring telemetry to the utility/ISO/purchaser? We're here to help. Contact us with the form below and we'll get back to you - we endeavor to answer all inquiries within one business day.
